Google opened offices in Paris in 2002. They forge a link to the US by using established engineering and cultural institutes to create an ecosystem helping startups and higher education centers develop innovative solutions.

Google Paris has built partnerships with the Telecom Foundation, Etalab (the French Government’s open data program), and local firms supporting the Parisian ecosystem for startups run via the Silicon Valley business model, which enables rapid growth. Google believes the access to public data represents the channel to growth for small and medium sized enterprises using web technologies.
